My name is Jess, and welcome to The Counselling and Psychotherapy Harbour.
I’m passionate about supporting clients to find their inner peace. My own experiences with counselling and psychotherapy led me to pursue a career in mental health. My journey began with a degree in psychology and continued with training and a masters degree in psychotherapeutic counselling.
Throughout my personal experiences and training in mental health, I’ve seen the stigma associated with seeking support. While reaching out can be anxiety-provoking, I believe there should be no shame in it. I’m committed to destigmatizing mental health conditions.
I am a BACP registered therapist and as such comply with their ethics and standards of practice. I have spent the last four years working within the charitable sector providing specialist counselling to clients who have experienced trauma through sexual violence. I set up the Counselling and Psychotherapy Harbour to offer short and long term counselling and psychotherapy to adults who have a wide range of presenting challenges they wish to address.
Prior to this I spent 10 years working in the health and social care sector. I have supported neurodiverse individuals who were living with a variety of mental health conditions.
I am also continuously undertaking additional training courses as part of my ongoing continuing professional development.
